White noise emits from the speaker and reflects back and forth along the interior walls of the funnel, focusing the waves like a sound mirror.

In George Orwell's 1984 newspapers were scrutinised for "incorrect" content. That which did not pass such a review was thrown into a memory hole, where a current of hot air swept it up and thorough a vast network of pipes until it reached one of many secret furnaces. There the error was erased.

Every day we are inundated with all kinds of information. Censorship continues its spread through bots and fake accounts. Together they drown out the ideas they target with counter-information and plain lies. This corruption spreads and dwindles across populations like any other virus. Information, disinformation, bloom and rot. A fecund wasteland evolving and devolving into nothing but noise. Our world is changing. We are crossing - as Oksana Zabuzhko puts it - some "fateful boundary, right here and now, this very moment."
